Bookshelf Favourites

This is a little insight into book that I have on my bookshelf that I just can't part with! I have always loved reading, just like my mum and grandparents but being at school, then college I never seemed to have time to read because I would be doing art work, photography work or revising so the only opportunities I get to read are either, in the bath or on holiday! Now I am finished with college I am hoping to get lots more time for reading and I've already bought some new books which are piled up and ready to go.

Anyone for Seconds - this book is one that I actually got from America! It was on my very first trip there and I took some of my own books to read with me and read them all so the villa we were staying in had cupboards filled with books that other people had obviously left there as well. So I rummaged through and found this one. It is about a woman who already has two children and she meets a new man and begins a story with him. I loved it so much that I read it within a couple of days and I couldn't bare to part with it so I swapped all the book I brought with me for this one and since then I have read it many more times!

The Beach Cafe - I just loved this book from the moment I saw the front cover and the dainty little illustrations on the front and what is inside is no disappointment. It felt very close to my heart as it set  in Cornwall and so I found it very relatable but even if you aren't from Cornwall, it is a lovely read!

The Girl on The Train - I have literally been raving about this book at every opportunity to everyone I know. When ever anyone mentions reading and wants to know good books I can't help but burst out with this title. It is so gripping, I just couldn't put it down and I thought it was so cleverly written, Paula Hawkins is a real genius and I want to read more from her.

The Gathering - Now these next two books I read quite a long time ago and so although the stories are a little hazy in my memory, once I re read the blurb it brought back all the events from the stories and just why I loved them. The gathering drew me in because it focuses on a girl who is at one with the animals and as I consider myself an animal lover it loved the journey the book took me on.

Stealing Phoenix - Again, when I picked this off the bookshelf I immediately wanted to sit down, abandoned my camera and bury my head in this for the rest of the afternoon. It is a great book to just read and forget about anything else going on around you and almost be transported into their world!

I really loved all of these books and so many more but I just couldn't fit them all in but my bookshelf is filled to the brim. I have never wanted to have books on an iPad or on a kindle because I love holding them and seeing the pages and the way the font looks, weird but anyway! I will be doing some more posts in this style slowly getting to tell more about myself. Until then..
