Long time no speak!

Sooo, it's been a while! At the start of the summer when I finished my exams I saw myself writing even more posts and really focusing on my blog however I have just gone the opposite way! I haven't done any writing or drawing or anything like that this summer. I have read a few books especially on holiday I got through a couple but what with work and then lots of other exciting things that have happened this summer I haven't stopped!

I'll start from the beginning, so I've had lots of days spent in the sunshine at work amongst holiday makers and cream teas. I have to say it really has been so lovely to work with people that I really get on with and are all so nice and friendly and have made me feel so welcome this summer. Being at work made me really appreciate my time and days off so when I finished work I got straight home and bundled Monty into the car and off to either the beach or Lanhydrock we went to enjoy the rest of the day!

I've got so many amazing memories this summer and although this may be boring to read for some people, for my own memories I want to make a list of some of the top things I've enjoyed doing this summer!

* Surfing with my Dad
* Days out crabbing with friends in Padstow
* Holiday in Italy
* Trip to Switzerland
* Walks with Mum and Monty
* Days out on the boat

Right, now onto a life update and what is actually happening right now in my life. I'll start with Uni and whilst I was away on holiday I received a text saying that I had been accepted into Huddersfield University! So when we returned to England we went straight up to stay with my grandparents and started looking at flats. After a dodgy start and a few ABSOLUTELY NOs we found the one and we are now in the process of finishing up the last few bits we should (fingers crossed) be in next week ready to start uni the week after!

The next few posts will be about my trip away and some pictures and then after those I am going to work on having regular posts and as I am going to buy a lot of house things and putting together rooms I want it all to be documented on here!

A Life Update

I feel like I haven't written a post in ages! I have been so busy just working and then on my days off I've still been busy with other things. Since the last time I posted I have had my Sixth Form prom which was so good and we had a night out in Newquay after. As everything with college has finished I have had more time in the evenings and in my time to relax I have been able to read my book, "Whilst my eyes were closed" which was very clever and slightly traumatic but it meant that I couldn't put in down! I am now reading Jennifer Niven's "All the bright places" and its looking like another gripping read!

We have been having BBQs in the nice weather and I've really really enjoyed going bodyboarding with Dad. We just get the boards and wetsuits and go when we both have free time. Throughout the summer I am hoping to do it more and more and also get some go pro footage and pictures from days out on the boat and the lots of exciting plans I have!

I will try and get some more regular posts up because I love being able to look back and see a the photos I have taken and things that have happened and to have this record in the years to come will be cool. I am also planning a trip to Thorpe Park next week I think so I will be able to have post up about that too!

Currently

I have seen a couple of other posts in this style and as my whole mission at the minute is to get as much information about my self and get my style onto my blog I think this is a great addition! It is like a mini life update which I plan on doing maybe every week? If anyone else has done or does any of these tag me because I'd love to see them!

Watching; Recently I've been loving spending my evenings relaxing, in the bath and in bed catching up on vlogs from some of the Youtubers I watch and although this sounds slightly weird I have also been watching quite a few prison documentaries. I watched one on a channel one night and since then I've seen quite a few others! Love Island has also been a daily thing for the last couple of weeks and I love it. I watched it last year and this year has not disappointed me!

Reading; "While my eyes were closed" by Linda Green is my current book. I haven't been able to read too much of it yet but what I have so far is intriguing!

Listening; There are so many songs which I am currently loving and since going to the Big Weekend I have been listening to people I saw there such as The Weeknd but these are a few of the ones I have had on repeat!!
  • Often - The Weeknd
  • Gold - Kiiera
  • Me Too - Meghan Trainor
  • Don't Let Me Down - The Chainsmokers
Smelling; I have been wearing my Calvin Klein IN2U a lot more lately and this has actually just reminded me I need to order a new one because I've used so much! Also, there have been rest sweet peas picked and put on the front counter at work so smelling them all day whilst I'm there has been very pleasant!

Feeling; I have been working a lot lately and it feels good to go there and enjoy what I am doing and who I am with and then earning my own money at the same time! It has also made me appreciate my free time more and so I have been making the most of walks and going out when I am at home. My grandparents all also making the 300 mile journey from Yorkshire to Cornwall this week so I am excited to see them.

Planning; I am planning on a shopping trip to Exeter this week to find myself a prom dress for my Sixth Form prom with my best friend so I cannot wait for that!!

Bookshelf Favourites

This is a little insight into book that I have on my bookshelf that I just can't part with! I have always loved reading, just like my mum and grandparents but being at school, then college I never seemed to have time to read because I would be doing art work, photography work or revising so the only opportunities I get to read are either, in the bath or on holiday! Now I am finished with college I am hoping to get lots more time for reading and I've already bought some new books which are piled up and ready to go.

Anyone for Seconds - this book is one that I actually got from America! It was on my very first trip there and I took some of my own books to read with me and read them all so the villa we were staying in had cupboards filled with books that other people had obviously left there as well. So I rummaged through and found this one. It is about a woman who already has two children and she meets a new man and begins a story with him. I loved it so much that I read it within a couple of days and I couldn't bare to part with it so I swapped all the book I brought with me for this one and since then I have read it many more times!

The Beach Cafe - I just loved this book from the moment I saw the front cover and the dainty little illustrations on the front and what is inside is no disappointment. It felt very close to my heart as it set  in Cornwall and so I found it very relatable but even if you aren't from Cornwall, it is a lovely read!

The Girl on The Train - I have literally been raving about this book at every opportunity to everyone I know. When ever anyone mentions reading and wants to know good books I can't help but burst out with this title. It is so gripping, I just couldn't put it down and I thought it was so cleverly written, Paula Hawkins is a real genius and I want to read more from her.

The Gathering - Now these next two books I read quite a long time ago and so although the stories are a little hazy in my memory, once I re read the blurb it brought back all the events from the stories and just why I loved them. The gathering drew me in because it focuses on a girl who is at one with the animals and as I consider myself an animal lover it loved the journey the book took me on.

Stealing Phoenix - Again, when I picked this off the bookshelf I immediately wanted to sit down, abandoned my camera and bury my head in this for the rest of the afternoon. It is a great book to just read and forget about anything else going on around you and almost be transported into their world!

I really loved all of these books and so many more but I just couldn't fit them all in but my bookshelf is filled to the brim. I have never wanted to have books on an iPad or on a kindle because I love holding them and seeing the pages and the way the font looks, weird but anyway! I will be doing some more posts in this style slowly getting to tell more about myself. Until then..

It's all over!

Today was my last exam. I had a 2 and 1/2 hour English Language exam this morning and now I am officially finished with college work! The only thing I have left to do is go into art tomorrow and put up my work ready for an exhibition for the moderator and also for the parents to go and look round. It feels weird to not have any work to do, no revision and to literally not be able to do anything else at all to change the future and the results I am going to get. I will not miss much from college but I did have a really great English class and teacher so it is odd to think that I will never be in that class again. I am however, looking forward to going to Uni and starting over so that everything is new and exciting and I am working on something that I actually want to do!

A calm place

This to me is one of the most relaxing and calming places that I like to go. It has been somewhere I have gone lots of times every year since I was little and we have had two different boats moored there. I never really see people there that I know from anywhere else from there, if that makes sense, so I never have to worry about getting dressed up or anything when I go there. Even though where I live is very close to the sea and water not many people I know have boats and so for me, this is something very special to me that I feel I am lucky enough to have whenever I want!

So we took Monty for a lovely walk along the coast path and onto the beach which he loved, and he had a lovely cooling swim as it was quite warm yesterday!

Talking about pictures of Monty.. I have decide that I want to sign him to up be a casual model! When I say casual model, I mean just go and do a couple of photos or something like that, that he would enjoy and we could go along with him to! I just think that it would be so nice to have some professional photos taken and I have seen a couple of dogs like him on the modelling sites so why not Monty! I mean, you can see from the photos I take (and I have literally got 100s) that when a camera is pointed at him he likes to give his very best look and show everyone what a pretty pup he is. I think everyone is biased about their own dogs, I suppose it is like with children, everyone thinks theirs is the best and I think it is lovely that a dog can mean that much to someone and Monty certainly does to me!

The weather isn't the best today and it has been on and off raining so I have been inside revising all morning and I am about to get my wetsuit and go down to the beach with my Dad for the afternoon so I hope you have a great day too and I will hopefully have some more posts up soon.
Until then!

Summer Plans

I have just finished work for this week and I have the weekend off, which I am very much looking forward to! It has been very busy the last couple of days so I am looking forward to relaxing tonight and giving my feet a rest. I took this picture last night when I was on my way out to walk the dog and I just thought it looked so summery and pretty with the flowers falling in front of the bird house and the colours. We have been in our house nearly a year and it has been such a good decision and I'm really glad that we moved into town because this house suits my family down to the ground. It means that we are closer to everything in town and able to nip in and out to places where as before we were out on our own a bit and so had to make the trip into town whenever we wanted anything. Last year we were really busy with moving and we went on holiday so this year it is nice that I have the long summer since I have broken up from college and I am just working and enjoying my time off.

It is currently the Royal Cornwall Show which happens every year and this year is started on Thursday, Friday and then tomorrow is it's last day tomorrow however I am still undecided on whether I want to go or not but if I do I would really like to take Monty with me but I suspect that he might be a bit much with so many people in small spaces, so I might give that one a miss!
Something else that I have been wanting to do is walk the coast paths we are lucky enough to be surrounded by. My Mum and I always say that we will walk from the boat yard we always go to around the coast past St Mawes and the lighthouse and maybe do it in sections and get a couple of walks out of it, so that is something else to tick off this summer! I am hoping to get out and get some good pictures and things this weekend and do some more posts so there should be more soon, so until then!
